Orders meeting scheduled Sept. 16
On Sept. 16 in Oklahoma City, an Orders meeting for all clergy will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Speaker will be Thomas G. Butcher, who is executive officer for New Church Starts for the General Board of Discipleship (GBOD). The meeting will begin with worship at 10 a.m. Individual sessions for the ministry groups will be at 11:15. A free lunch will be served at noon.  read story>>

God's surprises crowd bishop's calendar
In a training session, Oklahoma’s bishop spoke about managing office calendars. His best advice to the newly elected bishops in the South Central Jurisdiction:

Senior Adult Retreat
"Herbs of the Bible." An intriguing title. That’s the subject for the Bible study sessions during the Senior Adult Retreat on Sept. 16-18 at Canyon Camp. Teacher will be Harri Williams. T.H. Milby will lead a nature study, and music will be led by Woody Hawkins and Dean Miller. People ages 55 and older are invited to attend the annual fall event, sponsored by the Annual Conference Council. Registration deadline is Sept. 12. Registration fee varies from $70 to $97 per person, depending on choice of lodging.

United Methodist Ministry Center
The Conference office has resumed a five-day workweek. Hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. The United Methodist Ministry Center is at 1501 N.W. 24th St., Oklahoma City.
During July and August, the center opened four days a week, with extended hours. The action was taken to reduce summer energy costs.
