Skyline secures grant to expand JETS program
An $88,000 grant will enable the JETS after-school program of Skyline Urban Ministry to open two new sites in Oklahoma City. The fund award by Impact Oklahoma Inc. was announced in late September. more>>>
2010 Annual Conference shortened
The Annual Conference will conclude on Wednesday next year, Bishop Robert Hayes Jr. has announced. The meeting will be held May 30-June 2, hosted by Boston Avenue UMC in Tulsa. The conference will begin on Sunday evening and conclude at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The primary worship services are scheduled for the evenings. Memorial Worship/Holy Communion is set for Sunday; the Service of Commissioning, Monday; and the Service of Ordination, Tuesday. In recent years, the meeting has started on Sunday and concluded on Thursday.

They can’t see forward, to know what it’s like to be 85 and in a wheelchair. But Peggy Asher can look back and remember what it’s like to be young.
Peggy Asher, 85-year-old: “I am impressed how they stayed with the job. Because sometimes kids work a little bit, they lose their enthusiasm. But you were so nice to come and we really appreciate you coming out.”
